The Building Services Department is responsible to administer, review, and issue Building Permits for all buildings over 107 square feet (10 m2). The Safety Codes Officer reviews all building plans submitted to insure the proposed building will conform to the Safety Codes Act and the National Building Code 2019 – Alberta Edition.
New building permits within Foothills County are visited regularly to insure that all work undertaken is in compliance with the Safety Codes Act.
Building Services also oversees that any undertaking in Foothills County is compliant with all applicable bylaws pertaining to developments within its boundaries.
